Major Trips in
the Past Few Years... May 2003 - Family trip to Dublin (Ireland) to see and
meet my half brother's family. Just a three day trip, but more than enough time
to soak up the atmosphere of Dublin. We went to the Guiness Brewery, on a
literary pub crawl and played a bit of golf. Met up with Ruth, Peters wife and
Rory, my Nephew, all of whom were wonderful!
September 2002 -
Business/Holiday trip to New Jersey. Flew from Manchester to Newark in 1st
class luxury. Stayed in a hotel in Morrison (NJ) and worked most days in a
small area called Booton in New Jersey. Journeyed into Manhattan on two days
and took a 3 hour boat trip around the island. We visited the exhibitions at
the Googenhiem museum and the natural history museum before heading up the
Empire State building for the amazing views of New York at
dusk.
July
2002 - Went to Italy with Andrea's family. We stayed in a very nice
villa to the north of Rome. The villa had a Pool, a 3/4 size snooker table,
full archery kit, table tennis table, air pistols, 3 barbeque areas, 3 acres of
olive grove and much much more. An amazing place. During the holiday Andrea and
I spent some time travelling around Italy. We caught the train up to Venice and
spent three nights there. We then caught the train back down to Florence, were
we spent to nights, and saw Michaelangelo's David and various other sights. A
superb holiday with great company and much wine drinking.
July 2001 - Spanish
travelling. Andrea and I spent 3 1/2 weeks travelling around the easter side of
Spain. We flew into Barcelona and spent 5 nights in this beautiful city which I
have been to a number of times before. We then caught the train down to
Tarragona, and spent one night, just so we could visit Porta Ventura, the
famous Universal Themepark. Then onwards down the east coast to Benicasim for 3
nights enjoying the sun and then on to Peniscola for 3 nights. After all this
travelling we caught the train to Velencia where we met up with Andrea's family
and stayed in a villa about 1.5 hours south of Valencia. Here we stayed for
about a week, enjoying the sun and local towns and villages. Our last port of
call was Madrid (Where andrea was going to do here year aboard) for 3 nights.
We travelled out to Alcala De Heneres, the birth-place of Cervantes, Spains
most important author. We took in the major attractions and then headed back
home.
July
2000 - A bit of a package holiday to Mallorca's east coast. This was
myself and Andrea's first holiday together. We soaked up the sun and had the
odd trip out; to Palma and on a Champagne boat trip. It was a pretty good
holiday.
